The Biden-Harris administration plans to free up White Dwelling customer logs as soon as the president-elect takes office, transition spokesperson Jen Psaki mentioned Friday.
Why it matters: President Trump’s White Dwelling kept customer logs to core places of work non-public, a circulate that became as soon as carefully criticized and confronted lawful challenges for its lack of transparency. Biden’s decision is a return to the policy held at some level of the Obama administration, which archived and released its logs, per Politico.
What she’s asserting: “For the sake of readability — The Biden-Harris Administration will return to the policy of releasing White Dwelling customer logs,” Psaki tweeted.
