UFC president Dana White launched on Contemporary one year’s Eve that reigning middleweight champion Israel Adesanya would steal on Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title in a ‘Champ vs. Champ’ big fight at UFC 259 on March 6.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto confirmed the matchup on Thursday, per White.
Adesanya, oozing with self assurance, reacted to the booking by declaring he’ll change into the UFC’s next two-division champion, confident that his championship fate has already been sealed and that he’s destined to beat Blachowicz.
“Champ times two! Champ squared. !” Adesanya, who’s undefeated at 20-0 (9-0 UFC), acknowledged in the video.
Blachowicz, the newly-topped light heavyweight champ, had a moderately numerous response to the announcement.
“The entire lot is agreed,” Blachowicz posted. “I’m correct gazing for the contract to designate it. Charging #LegendaryPolishPower.”
