Dana White no longer thinks Khabib goes to fight again following UFC 257

UFC president Dana White has been announcing for months that he believes light-weight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov would return to the Octagon. That is no longer what he’s announcing after Dustin Poirier knocked out Conor McGregor on Saturday evening in Abu Dhabi.

White spoke with Khabib earlier in the week, again telling the media that he believed his champion might presumably perhaps perhaps fight again, relying upon the implications of the UFC 257 main and co-main tournament bouts.

While Poirier knocked out McGregor in the headliner, frail Bellator champion Michael Chandler launched his arrival in the Octagon by taking away Dan Hooker in two minutes and 30 seconds.

Neither looks to be a performance that will entice Khabib support into the Octagon to strive to up his spotless document from 29-0 to 30-0.

“I did take a look at with Khabib (tonight),” White acknowledged on the UFC 257 Post-Fight Press Convention.

“He told me, ‘Dana, be upright with yourself. I’m so many ranges above these guys. I beat these guys.’ I don’t know, on the other hand it doesn’t sound very certain. And what he acknowledged became as soon as, I won’t withhold the division up.”

White also at closing admitted publicly that his perception that Khabib would return to the Octagon again became as soon as his pondering, no longer Khabib’s.

“He already retired. He’s assuredly retired,” White acknowledged. “I’m the actual individual that’s been attempting to construct up him to realize but but another.”

No topic at closing coming to the conclusion that Khabib potentially won’t return to the Octagon, White acknowledged he’s no longer hanging a timeline on a definitive resolution from Khabib.

With Poirier and Chandler having ultimate fought and won at UFC 257, White sees them fighting for the belt if Khabib doesn’t return, so he has somewhat time to let his champion keep a stamp on his retirement.
