European Union member states formally backed final week’s substitute deal between the U.K. and the EU setting out post-Brexit substitute, security and economic ties.

The settlement, which may maybe perchance be signed by U.K. Top Minister Boris Johnson and the EU’s top two officials on Wednesday, will approach into salvage provisionally on Jan. 1, pending the European Parliament’s vote on the accord in early 2021. The U.K. Parliament is expected to approve the settlement on Wednesday.

Approval had been broadly expected following the settlement launched between the two facets on Christmas Eve. Negotiations lasted by method of most of 2020.
