MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A poll worker in Memphis, Tennessee, has been fired after turning away early voters who maintain been carrying “Shadowy Lives Matter” and “I Can’t Breathe” shirts, an elections reliable stated Monday.
The worker became once fired Friday after officials received a call from a survey on the Dave Wells Neighborhood Heart in Memphis, Shelby County Election Fee spokeswoman Suzanne Thompson stated.
Tennessee law does not allow voters to wear devices bearing the name of a candidate or a political occasion in a polling space. But utter law does not restrict statements reminiscent of “Shadowy Lives Matter,” Thompson stated.
