Two participants of the WNBA finalist Mercury, center Brittney Griner and guard Skylar Diggins-Smith, were named to the All-WNBA first group of workers on Friday.
The 2 Phoenix stars were joined by 2021 WNBA MVP Jonquel Jones and Storm stars Breanna Stewart and Jewell Loyd on the main group of workers.
Jones used to be voted All-WNBA first group of workers on all 49 ballots submitted by a nationwide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. Diggins-Smith obtained the 2d-most first-group of workers votes, with 37. She averaged 17.7 parts and 5.3 assists per sport this season.
Griner executed with the third-most first-group of workers votes, with 31, after averaging 20.5 parts and a career-excessive 9.5 rebounds per contest.
Thought to be one of their Finals opponents, Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot, used to be named to the All-WNBA 2d group of workers. Vandersloot, who led the WNBA in assists for the fifth consecutive season, used to be joined by Aces ahead A’ja Wilson, Lynx center Sylvia Fowles, Mystics ahead Tina Charles and Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale on the All-WNBA 2d group of workers.
In a quantity of WNBA awards, Kelsey Plum used to be named the Sixth Player of the 365 days final week. Jones took home the league’s MVP award, while teammate Brionna Jones won the Most Improved Player award and coach Curt Miller used to be named the Coach of the 365 days.
