Sept. 13 (UPI) — The Biden administration announced Monday that starting Tuesday it will accept recent functions to divulge minors from Central American international locations into the US because it seeks to expand an Obama-era program that was shuttered beneath inclined President Donald Trump.
“We are firmly dedicated to welcoming americans to the US with humanity and admire, and reuniting families,” the Departments of Say and Native land Safety talked about in a joint divulge asserting the expansion of the Central American Minors program. “We are turning in on our promise to promote safe, exquisite and humane migration from Central The US by this expansion of factual pathways to gaze humanitarian security in the US.”
The Central American Minors program, or CAM, was terminated by Trump in 2017, nonetheless was resumed in March amid President Joe Biden‘s push to undo the immigration protection of his predecessor and a surge of undocumented minors being held at U.S. Border Patrol services.
