The Modern York Knicks‘ potentialities of trading for Devin Booker can be summed up in three letters, according to one NBA executive: “LOL.”

That became what one unnamed exec told SNY’s Ian Begley by textual articulate when he requested them about experiences tying Booker to the Knicks.

Leon Rose, the Knicks’ recent president of basketball operations, became Booker’s agent sooner than taking on in Modern York. Rose’s correct-hand man William Wesley also has a real relationship with Booker; Wesley and Kentucky coach John Calipari are also identified to be shut allies.

Whereas there are some easy throughlines to be drawn, the premise of Booker winding up in Modern York anytime quickly is indeed droll. Booker is the Suns’ most attention-grabbing player since Steve Nash and is below contract for four more seasons, none of which can be player alternate choices.

Whereas Booker has expressed a desire to decide, there’ll not be any reason to think the Knicks are any better geared up for the future than the Suns. Modern York’s most attention-grabbing younger prospect is RJ Barrett, who has had a real rookie season but is leaps and bounds in the support of draft classmates Ja Morant and Zion Williamson. With Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilikina having a search love lottery misses, the Knicks are arguably years in the support of Phoenix’s original developmental curve.

Plus, the Suns don’t have any passion or reason to commerce Booker. Even in the match that Booker requests a commerce from Phoenix, he has no leverage to power himself to Modern York for the foreseeable future.
