Paul McCartney Notches Third High Rock Albums No. 1 With ‘McCartney III’

Paul McCartney rules Billboard’s High Rock Albums chart for the third time as a solo artist, as McCartney III debuts atop the tally dated Jan. 2.

McCartney III arrives with 107,000 identical album objects earned within the week ending Dec. 24 following its Dec. 18 launch, per Nielsen Song/MRC Knowledge. Of that sum, 104,000 objects are by album gross sales.

The distance follows the Beatles sage’s outdated solo rulers Memory Virtually Full (June 2007) and Egypt Station (September 2018), dating to the checklist’s 2006 inception. The Beatles possess led with four entries.
