The Roots‘ renowned frontman, Sad Thought, is gearing up for his upcoming EP, Streams of Thought Vol. 3: Cane and Abel.
Space to begin July 31, Thought’s third installment will encompass an array of gear ranging from Swizz Beatz, Pusha T, ScHoolboy Q and extra. Interestingly sufficient, Portugal The Man makes three appearances on the 13-track effort. For those salivating for fresh music, the hip-hop luminary will seemingly be unleashing his first single, “Thought Vs. Everyone,” this Friday (July 10). On the production facet, Sean C will helm the mission.
In 2018, Sad Thought spoke to Billboard about Streams of Thought Vol. 1 and the constant juggling act between rapping and performing every day as The Tonight Display’s residence band.
“We web time for the things that are well-known to us,” he acknowledged. “I’m impressed. I’m mettlesome. An unspoken level of competitors to prevail and diversify your heed. So when I spy my associates winning James Beard Awards and Pulitzer Prizes, it motivates me to web it. I essentially feel admire I’ve yet to develop all that I living out to develop originally of my profession. To be in a band with the different founding participants that never sleep is engaging. Questlove set apart out 5 books a year and deejays every evening and tranquil develop the same day job that I develop, supreme with extra accountability. It drives me to search out a mode to juggle it.”
Streams of Thought Vol. 1 modified into produced by 9th Surprise, whereas Vol. 2 stumbled on Salaam Remi running the expose on the production front.
