Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Mendis is under arrest.

Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Mendis became on Sunday arrested for knocking down a pedestrian whereas driving, police mentioned.

Mendis hit a 74-year-weak man, killing him in the wee hours, in the Colombo suburb of Panadura.

He is to be produced sooner than a magistrate later this day, police mentioned.

The 25-year-weak wicket-keeper batsman has represented Sri Lanka in 44 Assessments and 76 ODIs. Mendis became piece of the nationwide squad which had resumed practicing after the Covid-19 lockdown.

Sri Lanka’s international assignments, including a tour by India, have confidence been cancelled as a result of pandemic.
