Stipe Miocic is taking his knockout loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 this weekend in trail.

The outdated school two-time UFC heavyweight champion posted on Instagram, in segment, that he became as soon as disappointed with the loss but that it became as soon as a segment of the sport:

“To my family friends and followers, especially Croatia and Cleveland… I truly similar to you and I am sorry. I abominate letting you down. To my staff, thank you. I know you feel every loss apt as grand as I assemble. We rep as a family, we lose as a family. Losses need to now not relaxing, they always sting for a while, but that’s the beast of this commercial. You perhaps can now now not rep all of them, and it be important to realize that dropping is apt as grand a segment of sports (and existence) as worthwhile.”

Miocic added that he “deviated” from his sport opinion in opposition to Ngannou and went after him “overzealous and unprotected” when he felt his opponent became as soon as winded. That allowed Ngannou to grab him with a 2nd-spherical knockout punch.

Miocic, 38, is now 1-1 in opposition to Ngannou after beating him at UFC 220 in 2018, the third of his title defenses after beating Fabricio Werdum to rep the title at UFC 198 in 2016. Miocic then misplaced his belt to Daniel Cormier at UFC 226 later in 2018, only to beat Cormier a one year later and bag the title.

He done his trilogy with Cormier at UFC 252 in August, beating him a 2nd time for the first protection of his 2nd heavyweight title reign.

It looks indulge in that a trilogy with Ngannou will be held in the end, though when remains to be viewed. Ngannou, for what it be price, believes Jon Jones desires a shot on the champion.

“I focus on that Jon Jones desires this wrestle,” he told TMZ Sports. “I focus on he’ll need it to happen on myth of it be gonna be a gigantic wrestle.”

He continued: “He’s been around see you later and been champ for a truly lengthy time so I dangle this could perhaps also be the glorious wrestle of his occupation and mine. I dangle he desires to position one thing indulge in this on his legacy, on his resume. I truly focus on that he desires this wrestle to happen.”

It would seem that Jones—for the time being in a staredown with the UFC over a contract dispute—desires the wrestle too:

I always hear about how grand the corporate is increasing but one one year later I gain myself in the same predicament. I save in the work, I’ve carried out my segment. I truly bear entirely remodeled myself and now I meet a brick wall.. how discouraging

I am going to grab a examine to stay faithful. There’s quiet time for the UFC to assemble the glorious ingredient. I am imagined to be seeing a wrestle proposal next week. Fingers are crossed, it’s a ways a likelihood of a lifetime for everybody provocative.

So if there is a Miocic and Ngannou trilogy finale, it seemingly will come down the street.
